Terms of Service

Terms of Service

These are the rules for using Shu at shubrand.com. Short version: read, think, don't abuse the place, and we're good. Long version follows.

What Shu Is

Shu is an editorially driven publication. We cover what we find worth covering. Nothing here constitutes professional advice — legal, financial, medical, or otherwise. If you need that, consult an actual professional.

Using the Site

You may read, share links, and engage with content for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not:

  • Reproduce or republish substantial portions of our content without written permission
  • Scrape, crawl, or harvest site content or user data at scale
  • Attempt to access systems or data you are not authorized to access
  • Use the site to distribute spam, malware, or anything unlawful
  • Misrepresent your identity or affiliation when contacting us

Breach of these terms may result in loss of access. We will not lose sleep over enforcing that.

Advertising & Sponsored Content

Shu is supported by advertising revenue. Display ads, programmatic ads, and occasionally sponsored content may appear on the site. Sponsored content will be labeled as such. Advertising relationships do not influence our editorial positions — that independence matters to us and we protect it.

Intellectual Property

All original content on Shu — articles, headlines, photography, graphics, and editorial voice — is owned by Shu or its contributors and protected by copyright. The Shu name and any associated marks are proprietary.

You retain ownership of anything you send us (tips, letters, pitches). By sending it, you grant us a non-exclusive license to use it for editorial purposes, with or without attribution as appropriate.

Disclaimers

We work to publish accurate, well-reported content. We do not warrant that everything on the site is error-free or complete at any given moment. Content may be time-sensitive; check dates before acting on anything.

The site is provided as-is. We make no guarantees of uninterrupted availability.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Shu and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — this site. Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms will not exceed the greater of $100 or any amount you actually paid us, which for most readers is zero.

Third-Party Links

We link to external sites. Once you leave shubrand.com, you are under their rules, not ours. We do not endorse and are not responsible for third-party content.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be noted with an updated date below. Continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of the current terms. If something changes in a way you object to, you are free to stop using the site — that is a legitimate choice.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by applicable law in the jurisdiction where Shu operates. Disputes should be brought in the appropriate courts of that jurisdiction.
